In the case the office is closed for the holiday or an employee is on vacation, you can redirect phone calls for a specific time frame.


First, go to https://service.ringcentral.com and login. Then click Phone System > Auto-Receptionist > General Settings > IVR Settings, then click Add Custom Rule.


Then click Add Rule. Give it a name to identify it. Then select the conditions. In this case we will use a specific date and time. Check the Date and/or Time box and then select Specific Date Range.


Set the start date and time and the end date and time. Then click Next and choose which extension to send calls to and click Save.


You can also define conditions based on the caller ID or which number they called to reach this system. For the purpose of this tutorial, the changes will be applied to all incoming calls to the main line. You can also set conditions on a specific extension instead of the whole system.
