To use Outlook, first login to your account at office.com. If you have never logged into your Microsoft 365 account, follow this first-time sign-in tutorial.
When logged in, press the waffle application launcher at the top left and click Outlook.
In the Outlook web-app, you will see a list of email, a list of folders and then, on the far left, feature launcher icons. The top three are, in order from the top, Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. In the screenshot below, there is no mail in the inbox.
To compose a new message, click the New Mail button on the left above the folder list.
In the New Mail windows, type a recipient's email address, a subject and a message. Then click Send.
To attach a file to an email, click the paper-clip on the toolbar above the compose window. Choose Browse this computer to attach from your hard drive, or OneDrive to send a OneDrive file.
Calendar
To access the Calendar, press the calendar launcher on the left side. You will see the calendar with the current date highlighted. You can change the view to a single day, a week or a month; or you can choose just the work week to exclude the weekends.
To add en event to your calendar, click the New Event button near the top left.
Add an event title, set the date and time and include the email addresses of other invited attendees. Then click Save or Send.
Contacts
To access your contact list, click the contacts launcher icon on the left side. To enter a new contact, click the New Contact button.
Enter the first and last name and all the details. Then click Save.
The other applications available on the left side are:
- Groups - Manage groups of which you are an owner or a member. Groups are a way to collaborate with people on your team.
- To Do - A task list; manage the things you have to do. Email that you flag in Outlook shows in the To Do app under Flagged Email.
- OneDrive - a place to store files and share them with teammates, customers, vendors, contractors, volunteers and other collaborators.
- More Apps - a customizable list of additional apps.
